The Search for Curricular Specific Software

What software is available for the handheld computer and what
does it cost? You will be amazed at the number of handheld applications
already available and even more pleased with the cost - many are free
or under $20.00. The first list of websites will give you the location
of curricular specific software resources. The second list of resources
provides even more ideas and applications that may be used in multiple
curricular areas.
When researching the applications, you should focus first on - How this
program could enhance a lesson or help my students achieve the objectives
of the lesson. Think of how this may be integrated in a way that students
find value and real world purpose.

My recommendations for special education:
- Use as an organizer to keep the students on top of their schedules
and assignments
- Obtain handhelds with voice recorders or buy voice recorders to
attach to the handheld for students to record teacher lectures and
instructions
- Obtain a keyboard so the student can key in information versus using
graffiti
